Nineteen recognized for MSW work at Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. – Nineteen residents of the region were recognized Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, for their work as part of the sixth cohort of Master of Social Work students to do their coursework at the University of Pittsburgh’s Bradford campus.

Dr. Livingston Alexander, president of Pitt-Bradford, greeted the graduates and their guests, recognizing the continuing social challenge for the region and praising the students’ commitment to attaining a post-baccalaureate degree.

Also speaking were Larry Davis, dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh; Stephanie Eckstrom, Pitt-Bradford MSW program coordinator; and student speakers chosen by their classmates, Tara Bennett of Bradford and Patricia Merriam of Hornell, N.Y.

In addition to Bennett and Merriam, those recognized were Sara Bouch and Christine Brown, both of Allegany, N.Y.; Duke Brown, Jennifer Guthrie and Kimberly Lindquist, all of Bradford; Jennifer Hoffer of Marienville; Jennifer Moore of Kane; Marcia Nupp of Belmont, N.Y.; Angela Pascarella and Kathrin Rogers, both of Salamanca, N.Y.; Margaret Perkins of Portville, N.Y.; Stephanie Poole of Little Valley, N.Y.; Cathy Strawcutter of Ceres, N.Y.; Cassie Tichner of St. Marys; Diane Trippany and Denise Walker, both of Olean, N.Y.; and Megan Woods of Smethport.
