Pitt-Bradford presents ‘Escape from Happiness’ this weekend

BRADORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh Division of Communication and the Arts will present “Escape From Happiness” Nov. 19 through 22 in the Studio Theater in Blaisdell Hall.

Shows will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Cost of tickets is $6 for the public and $2 for all students.

This comedic drama is written by Canadian playwright George F. Walker and will be directed by Dr. Kevin Ewert, professor of theatre.

“This one has been on the wish list for a long, long time,” Ewert said. “This term I’ve got a supremely talented bunch who are killing it. This is a dark and beautiful and appallingly funny screwball comedy about the trials and tribulations of being a family – perfect fare just in time for Thanksgiving!”
The play is centered on a family with three grown daughters and its entanglement with a criminal plot. It contains adult language and themes.
Students taking part in the production are Lanessa Hickman, a biology and psychology major from Lees Summit, Mo., Nora; Delaney Held, a public relations major from Erie, Elizabeth; Carlie Watson, a radiological science major from Coudersport, Mary Ann; Tamia Robinson, an undeclared student from Philadelphia, Gail; Julia Messam, an undeclared student from Media, Dian;
Sidney Peralta, a writing major from Bradford, Mike; Patrick Martucci, a broadcast communications major from Gilroy, Calif., Tom; William Warren, a business management major from Verona, Junior; Shaan Hossain, a history-political science major from Pittsburgh, Rolly; and Collin Maines, a broadcast communications major form Sheffield, Stevie.
