Pitt-Bradford Noon Tunes concert to present piano four-hands (October 8th)

BRADFORD, Pa. – Pianists Xak Bjerken and Miri Yampolsky will present a rare opportunity to see piano four-hands – two musicians playing on the same instrument – during a Spectrum Series concert at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford next week.

Bjerken and Yampolsky, who both teach piano at Cornell University, will also each perform solo pieces during the Noon Tunes concert, which will begin at noon Oct. 8 in the Studio Theater of Blaisdell Hall. The event is free and open to the public. A light luncheon will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Bjerken and Yampolsky co-direct MAYFEST, an annual chamber music festival in Ithaca, N.Y., and recently released a jointly recorded CD, “SCH,” featuring the music of Schumann, Schubert, Robert Sierra and Steven Stucky.
