Water Authority: Results of Press Conference at Bradford City Hall (2/25/15)

Results of Press Conference today at Bradford City Hall: Kim Benjamin gave an update on the current status of the water main break on Campus Drive.
 ……….
Last evening at 6 pm the repair was completed, and at 7 pm the system became operational. Water was let into the system at a very slow rate since there is air in the line, and this would prevent more lines breaking. The two major tanks that hold 3 million gallons and 2 million gallon of water still is not showing any water, but that will take anywhere from 24 to 96 hours to complete.
 …………….
This afternoon they will be ramping up the water going into the system. Mr Benjamin remained optimistic that we can accomplish this providing there aren’t any additional breaks.
 ………….
The boil water order will remain in effect, and may remain in effect for the next week to ten days.
 ……………..
Fire protection has been taken care of with tanker trucks available.
Conservation is still very important until the system is completely filled back up.
…………..
For those who can’t afford to buy bottle water it will be available at all the Fire Stations in the City, Bradford Township, Foster Township and Lewis Run. You will need to bring proof of residence and you will receive one case of water per family.
