Frances K. Meckley, 97, formerly of 526 Tionesta Avenue, passed away Thursday (January 29, 2015) at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born May 22, 1917, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Pasqualina Costanzo Perry. On November 22, 1941, in Kane, she married Orvis S. Meckley, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1997.
Fran had worked at various times at the former Shirt Factory, the Temple Theater and Houston Electronics. She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She also had belonged to the CD of A Court Callistus #66 and the former Altar-Rosary Society.
Surviving, are a son, Gary Meckley of Jefferson Hills; three granddaughters, Jayde (Jim) Hanjos of Indiana, PA, Michele Rash and Cindy Meckley, both of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Todd Bizzak of Kersey; four great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Bizzak; a grandson, Rico Bizzak; and four brothers, Joseph, John, James and Anthony Perry.
Friends will be received 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the gathering space of St. Callistus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Callistus Cemetery.
The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
