Katherine M. “Kay” Hanson, 88, formerly of Wetmore Road, passed away Friday (August 1, 2014) at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born June 4, 1926, in Wetmore Township, she was a daughter of Martin and Eva Kralick Merlock. On January 24, 1953, in Mt. Jewett, she married Paul R. Hanson who preceded her in death in 1998.
Kay was a homemaker and also owned and operated the Colonial Inn after the death of her sister, Anne Pearson. She also helped in the rectory at St. Callistus Church and previously at St. Patrick’s rectory in Wellington, OH.
Surviving are a daughter and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Pearson and Mary Salamon.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Sheffield.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
