Isabelle L. Carlson
Isabelle Lucille Carlson, 88, of 9716 Rte. 6, passed away peacefully early Wednesday (April 23, 2014) at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
She was born on February 26, 1926, in Kane, to the late David and Florence Johnson Bloomquist. On March 15, 1943, she eloped and married the love of her life, Richard W. Carlson, who survives.
Issy was a beloved wife of seventy-one years and was a great homemaker who sold Dutchmaid Clothing for years. She was a member and a lay minister for many years at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kane.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jeannine (Lyle) Leaman of Freeland, MI; two sons, David R. (Anne Lindquist) Carlson of Kane and Daniel (Connie) Carlson of Mt. Jewett; four grandchildren, Ira, Abram, Joshua Carlson and Daniel Kelly; eleven great grandchildren; and three nieces.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents, was a sister, Iona Hipchen.
Issy will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Jewett with a luncheon to follow at the Fellowship Hall.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Home at Kane, 100 High Point Drive, Kane, PA 16735 or St. John’s Episcopal Church, 427 Chase Street, Kane, PA 16735.
The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
