Thomas R. Jones, 77, of 309 Greeves Street, passed away Thursday (February 20, 2014) at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born August 11, 1936, in Kane, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Gertrude Zilkofski Jones. On August 26, 1992, at the First United Methodist Church in Kane, he married Jan Erickson who survives.
Tom served in the U.S. Army and attended college at Williamsport for two years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also belonged to the Kane Fish and Game Club. Before his retirement, he was employed at Stackpole.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Thomas (Barb) Jones of Russell and David (Briana) Jones of Kane; a brother, Robert Jones of Kane; a sister, Joanne (Jim) Thompson of Emporium; a stepson, John (Marcie) Paul of Irwin; a stepdaughter, Lanette Hadfield of Kane; and nine grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Dalton Jones; a son, Stephen Jones; and a stepson-in-law, Keith Hadfield.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. William R. LaVelle Jr., pastor, officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 112 Greeves St., Kane, PA 16735 or the Kane Fish and Game Club.
