Barbara J. Rowland

Barbara J. Rowland, 81, of Bradford, formerly of Greenville, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

She was born on December 27, 1932 in Englewood, CO, the youngest of ten children and daughter of the late Charles and Helen Wiedenfeldt Toy.

On May 26, 1956 in Colton, CA she married Edmund B. Rowland, MD, who preceded her in death on December 2, 1985. A Registered Nurse, she spent most her career assisting her husband in his OB/GYN practice in Greenville.

She was an avid outdoors person, enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and flying with her husband from the Greenville Municipal Airport.

She was also a great friend to the Amish, spending much of her later years rendering medical care and support to her friends in the Community.

She is survived by her five children, including: Tom Rowland (Chipiona, Spain), David Rowland (Bradford, PA), Richard Rowland (Dillsburg, PA) Edmund Rowland Jr. (Denver, CO), and Elise Rowland Foxall (Vienna, Austria). She was blessed with eight grandchildren (Juan, Tommy, Jessica, Ben, Sam, Lydia, Kate, and Rachel) and two great grandchildren (Vegha and Paula).

At her request there will be no visitation. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc., Bradford, PA.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Bradford Ecumenical Home or to the Greenville Municipal Airport.
